My last post that wasn’t a blog tour review was in January, so it has been quite a long time since I’ve last updated. However, I’ve recently been seeing all my friends and favorite bloggers post their end of the year wrap-ups (my favorite kind of posts to both read and write!), and have gained the motivation to finally click the “new post” button and let my thoughts out.
So I’m here today with a discussion/update post about why I’ve been gone for so long, my thoughts about book blogging, and a few changes I’d like to make to this space going forward!

Welcome to my stop on the blog tour for Our Violent Ends!
I finished Our Violent Ends a few weeks ago and have been screaming about it ever since, so I’m very excited for more people to be destroyed by it. This novel has made it to the list of my favorite books of 2021, and hopefully, my review today will convince you to read it!
Also, make sure to stay tuned until the end of this post for information about a U.S. giveaway for a copy of These Violent Delights and Our Violent Ends…

Welcome to my stop on the For All Time blog tour!
For All Time just came out a few days ago and it should definitely be on your radar. It has a gorgeous cover, even more gorgeous prose, and best of all, it has the reincarnation romance trope! Due to personal reasons, I’m not able to post my review today, so I’m here instead with a spotlight all about this book.

A powerful beginning to a new fantasy series, The Jasmine Throne showcases the complexity of empire and the monstrosity and power of women within it.
This adult fantasy book featuring morally grey sapphics set in an Indian-inspired world was one of my most anticipated 2021 releases; I fully expected to rate it five stars! And while a few aspects (sadly) disappointed me, I was still able to enjoy the book as a whole.

I thought that I would be ready for the ending of The Infinity Courts.
But I thought wrong, because absolutely nothing prepared me for the final twists during those last few pages! It’s been almost a week since I finished the book, and yet I still find myself in awe of them.
I’ve talked about how excited I was for The Infinity Courts before, and I was so excited when I was able to join this blog tour and read it early! I’m so glad to say that, aside from a few struggles I had, it lived up to my expectations. So today, I’m here with my review of The Infinity Courts as part of the blog tour hosted by Turn the Page Tours!

Novellas are so much fun to read.
As much as I love reading longer books so I can really connect with the story and characters, sometimes I just want to pick up something quick that I can finish in a short amount of time yet still be able to enjoy! There’s just something so special about losing yourself in a magical story for a hundred pages, which is why I love novellas.
So today, I’m here to review The Empress of Salt and Fortune and When The Tiger Came Down the Mountain: two novellas that I recently read and enjoyed!

From award-winning author Kelly Loy Gilbert comes a powerful, achingly romantic drama about the secrets we keep, from each other and from ourselves, perfect for fans of Permanent Record and I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter.
All Beth wants is for her tight-knit circle of friends—Grace Nakamura, Brandon Lin, Sunny Chen, and Jason Tsou—to stay together. With her family splintered and her future a question mark, these friends are all she has—even if she sometimes wonders if she truly fits in with them. Besides, she’s certain she’ll never be able to tell Jason how she really feels about him, so friendship will have to be enough.
Then Beth witnesses a private act of violence in Jason’s home, and the whole group is shaken. Beth and her friends make a pact to do whatever it takes to protect Jason, no matter the sacrifice. But when even their fierce loyalty isn’t enough to stop Jason from making a life-altering choice, Beth must decide how far she’s willing to go for him—and how much of herself she’s willing to give up.

Welcome to my stop on the American Betiya Tour!
Although I personally didn’t enjoy this book as much as I wanted to, it was mostly a case of “right book, wrong time,” as most of my problems with it were personal rather than big issues with the story. I’m sure you would enjoy it if you’re looking for a YA Contemporary filled with powerful themes of finding yourself!
