My favorite part about blogging is, and will always be, the community.
I don’t want to get sappy this early into the post, but every time someone comments and spreads their support, every time I read other bloggers’ replies to my comments, every time I’m able to recommend a book to someone — it all means the world to me. I truly look forward to blogging every day because of all the wonderful people I’ve met and all the positivity in this community. ❤
So that’s why I’m here today to share my nominations for the fourth annual 2020 Book Blogger Awards and spread all the love I can!!
Please make sure to check out the wonderful hosts of the awards and thank them for putting this together as well as read their posts for the rules, categories, and more: May @ Forever and Everly & Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books.
This is my first year participating, and I am so, so excited to nominate all my favorite bloggers…

♡ Best Pre-Teen / Teen Book Blogger (13-19) ♡
Caitlin @ Caitlin Althea: Caitlin is such an amazing blogger; I’ve seen her nominated so many times already for this category and she 100% deserves it! Her posts are always well-written and thorough, and her blogging voice and personality are amazing. I love interacting with her, and she’s definitely one of the best bloggers I know!
♡ Best Adult Book Blogger (20+) ♡
Marie @ Drizzle and Hurricane Books: Marie has been blogging for seven years, and her wisdom shines through all of her content!! She comes up with such amazing post ideas, is constantly uplifting others in the community, and all I can say is that the blogging community would not be the same without her presence.
♡ Best Book Reviews ♡
Fadwa @ Word Wonders: I’m more of a silent reader of Fadwa’s blog, although that needs to change because I adore her book reviews! They always manage to highlight the book’s essence and her own thoughts on the ideas explored in the most thorough way possible, which I love. (Her booktube channel is wonderful as well!)
♡ Best Book Recommendations ♡
Margaret @ Weird Zeal: I’m so glad I discovered Margaret’s blog because she comes up with such amazing ideas, and her recommendations posts (such as her “If you liked this, try this” LGBTQ+ book recommendations) are so creative! She makes me want to read all the books she mentions in her posts every single time. 😅
★ Rhi @ Marshmallow Harmonies: Rhi’s posts are filled with personality and her blog name is beautiful; I’m so glad to have found her in the community! I know to trust her amazing queer book recommendations (such as her Pride month book recs from earlier this year), and she just gives out amazing book recommendations in general!
★ May @ My 1st Chapter: While May’s currently on hiatus, I can’t wait for her return! (also can we take a minute to appreciate her amazing artwork and talent?!!) Her writing style is very fun to read, and I can feel her passion towards books. I especially love her recommendations posts, such as the “If You Loved This, then try…” series she’s done!
♡ Best Discussion Posts ♡
★ Faith @ The Pages Left Unread: I recently found Faith’s blog and am so glad I did because their discussion posts are some of the best I’ve ever read!! They have a very distinct, powerful writing style and have written so many important discussions (such as the one on Performative Allyship and Anti-Blackness in the Book Community) that need to be recognized more often.
★ Aditi @ One In a Million: Aditi is one of my first closest blogging friends so I’m probably biased but her blog is amazing!! (also we’re so similar it’s scary hehe) Her discussion posts, such as the one highlighting the show Never Have I Ever and the importance of representation in media, are always utterly powerful – you can tell she’s very passionate about what she does!
♡ Best Blog Aesthetic ♡
★ Chloe @ Marshmallow Pudding: Chloe seems like such a kind person, and everything from her blog’s name to the adorable graphics are so aesthetically pleasing!! I’m forever in love with her pastel pink-and-yellow color scheme as well as the stunning designs that she drew herself. She also takes such pretty film photos!
★ Sophie @ The Moonchild Pages: I’m pretty sure that Sophie drew all of the graphics on her blog as well, and they are simply precious. Her blog’s name is celestial-inspired and it’s!! so!! aesthetic!! Her featured images are also some of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen – they’re always extremely detailed and colorful!
♡ Best Blogging / Writing Voice ♡
Lu @ It’s Lu Again: Lu’s blogging voice is SO funny and dripping with personality, I absolutely love it! I know I’m going to end up smiling or laughing any time I read her posts – her reviews and recommendations are very fun to read!! She’s also very creative with her post titles, I’m always intrigued the moment I see them in my Reader.
★ Nimika @ Wordhaven: I found Nimika’s blog very recently but loved her content so much that I knew I had to nominate her for this award! Her blogging voice is definitely also one of the best in the entire community (when I tell you that she is hilarious, I mean it)! She’s also such a talented writer and comes up with the best post ideas.
♡ Most Supportive ♡
Sofii @ A Book. A Thought.: Sofii is such a gem in the book blogging community – all the support she constantly spreads to others just warms my heart!! Posts like the monthly feature where she highlights her favorite content from others show how dedicated she is to spreading appreciation and love in the community, and her bookish posts are such a pleasure to read as well!
★ Lais @ The Bookish Skies: Everything from Lais’s blog name to her aesthetic is so lovely, and to top it off, she’s such a supportive member of the book blogging community! Every time I see that she’s left a comment on one of my posts, I can’t wait to reply and have a conversation with her – she’s so kind and I love our interactions.
♡ Most Engaged In The Community ♡
Sophie @ Me & Ink: While Sophie is currently on hiatus, she used to be such a positive presence in the community! I would see her lovely, encouraging comments on most of the posts I read; she put so much effort into appreciating the work of others. ❤ Sophie’s own posts and blog are also extremely amazing: you need to check them out now!!
★ Rukky @ Eternity Books: I see Rukky’s wonderful, encouraging comments on so many posts in the community, I don’t know how she does it! She’s recently launched a new feature called The Serotonin Monthly where she promotes and talks about her favorite bloggers, and that’s just another one of the many reasons she’s perfect for this award.
♡ Most Creative / Original Posts ♡
★ Germaine @ Germaine Han: Germaine is another one of my OG blogging friends, and I’m so happy to have found her through the community. 🥺 Her posts are very well-structured and I’m always in awe at the quality of everything she puts out, especially her discussions (make sure to check out her most recent one about humanity’s search for meaning)!
Malka & Chana @ Paper Procrastinators: These two come up with such wonderful ideas for all of their posts, and I’m so grateful for the quality content they create! They’e written such thoughtful, well-worded discussions (such as the one on whether the art is truly separated from the artist), talked about different bookish ways to categorize yourself, and so many other fantastic posts.
Xandra @ Starry Sky Books: Xandra could easily be nominated for best blog aesthetic as well (her blog’s name and celestial theme are so lovely), but I chose to nominate her in this category because the ideas she comes up with are always unique!! Her series showcasing what no one told her about the book blogging community, special bookstagram tips, and just all of her content is so creative.
♡ Best Personality ♡
Ilsa @ A Whisper of Ink: Ilsa’s blog is utterly beautiful (just look at her blog name and banner!) and so is the content of her posts!! Reading them is like chatting with an old friend – her personality is so strong and funny that it’s impossible to not enjoy her words. She writes the best snarky reviews and her comments are also so hilarious!
★ El @ Elated Books: El is the first person I wrote a collab post with, and I’m so glad we were able to because she is so funny and amazing!! I can’t help but laugh while reading her posts – her bookish commentary (you need to read post about notes & quotes on Sourdough by Robin Sloan!!), book updates, and just everything is truly enjoyable to read.
♡ Friendliest Member of the Community ♡
★ Amber @ Amber’s Reads: Every time I get a comment notification from Amber, I know to be excited because she always makes my day!! She’s probably the sweetest person alive: I love chatting with her and her comments are always uplifting. She deserves so many more followers because her blog posts are also wonderful!
Oliva @ Purely Olivia: Olivia’s blog name is a perfect description of her because she is honestly so pure, sweet, and encouraging. I know I’m not the only one to say that she’s one of the friendliest members in the community, and for good reason – she’s constantly boosting others and their content as well as writing amazing posts herself!
♡ Best At Promoting Diverse Books ♡
CW, Joce and Skye @ The Quiet Pond: I’m also a silent reader at The Quiet Pond, but I can absolutely say that the bloggers there are 100% deserving of this nomination! CW, Joce and Skye are always promoting marginalized voices through their incredibly well-written Pride Month features, Asian Heritage Month Editions, and much much more.
♡ Best New Book Blogger ♡
★ Sara @ Words With Wings: There aren’t that many newer book bloggers this year, but Sara just started hers in May and I’m loving her content!! Her blog design and color scheme is beautifully warm and welcoming, and her book reviews are so fun to read. She seems like such a sweet person and I can’t wait to get to know her better!
♡ Best Overall Book Blogger ♡
May @ Forever and Everly: May puts SO much effort into her blog and I get extremely excited whenever she posts because I know it’s going to be quality content!! From hosting these awards to writing amazing discussion posts to being very involved in the community, she’s a fantastic book blogger and the perfect choice for this award – I love her so much. ❤
(Those are all my nominations, but I’d just like to say a few things: Please know that regardless of whether I nominated you, I love you and your blog so much!! I follow so many bloggers and many of them aren’t book bloggers, so it would be impossible to mention them all.)
how many times did i use the word ‘amazing’ in this post? are you as excited as i am for these awards to commence? who are some of your favorite book bloggers??
